Appraisal is a provision that is found in most insurance policies that serves as an alternate dispute resolution process when there is a clear disagreement between two parties, the insured and the insurance company. The insured can request or demand appraisal depending on the policy language.
Once Appraisal is activated, each party will name their own Appraiser. If the Appraisers can not agree on a settlement amount for the loss, then a neutral third-party figure referred to as the Umpire will be brought in to look at both sides and come up with the amount of the Appraisal Award. The Appraisers must agree on who the Umpire will be. Mark Earle, our CEO and Founder, has Appraised thousands of losses and been able to help our insureds gain some very favorable settlements.
With years of experience in the industry, Mark Earle is certified to serve as Umpire during the Appraisal Process as well. He has done so on many different losses due to his distinct knowledge of the Appraisal and Property Damage.
